Christoph Jurissek

Controlling Dynamic Processes with Light

In his research, Christoph Jurissek develops new concepts to externally control dynamic covalent systems and materials. To achieve this, he utilizes photoswitchable molecules, which enable switching between dynamic and static bonds as response to illumination. Ultimately, Christoph’s work aims to perform an on-demand interconversion between polymers and their individual building blocks (monomers) – with the perspective of a light-gated closed-loop recycling.
