Photoswitchable hydrogen bonding system

Hydrogen bond is one of the most widely utilized non-covalent interactions to fabricate supramolecular structures. Bohan’s research interest includes the design of novel photoswitches to achieve reversible, significant and in situ control over the hydrogen bonding strength with light. This line of research can be further extended to the fabrication of photo-responsive dynamic supramolecular structures, which would shed light on the development of smart and dynamic materials.
