Reversible polymer crosslinking through light

Alwin Drichel is working on the implementation of dynamic covalent bonds into 3D polymer networks to enable reversible crosslinking. To achieve a variation of the crosslinking state the environment of the system has to be altered. This can be achieved through a variation of the system conditions, but also through light as stimuli. Alwins work focusses mainly on the use of spiropyrans to achieve a dynamic covalent exchange within the system driven by light and therefor alter the crosslinking properties.
