Sustainable Photo- and Electrochemical Routes to Regio- and Stereoselective Strained Cyclobutanes
The development of sustainable and selective synthetic methods remains a central challenge in modern organic chemistry. Photo- and electrochemical strategies have emerged as powerful approaches for enabling precise control of molecular transformations under mild and sustainable conditions. The research focus here is dedicated to harnessing photo- and electrochemistry for the regio- and stereoselective synthesis of strained cyclic compounds (e.g., cyclobutanes), which are prevalent in numerous medicinally active molecules. Additionally, exploiting of these innovative synthetic strategies through controlled photo- and electrochemical activation would allow the formation of valuable intermediates with high selectivity.
